Is there such thing as muscle memory?
If it took someone roughly 2-3 years to gain about 40 lbs of muscle and then they lost it all after an injury, how long would it take for them to get back to where they were. Not surpass it but just get back what they had before the injury. Would the same length of time be required or would it be gained at a quicker rate?
I know that a specific amount of muscle when someone first starts working out is gained neurally(the signal from the brain to the muscle) before any increase in muscle size. I'm hoping the body can remember what it once was!
Whats your guys' thoughts on this?

It's hard to say how fast it'll come in a given scenario, but it does come more quickly.

FP and MANSONOZZ,both gave you right on answers,and whos to question
MO considering what hes going thru right now.
ive also had more then my share off accidents/setbacks and i actually cried,when i was getting ready for a contest and got into a head on riding my bicycle,head on into a van.
my arm was so small i thought id never get back in shape.
i also got spinal meningitis and just about didnt make it.
went from about 225 230 to under 195 in under 1 week.
all i can say is thank god for muscle memory.
just hope you never have to see if it works for you.
