Rise and Fall - Goldmill's Book

Just purchased it for my Kindle. I've never really been into these kinds of books before, but I'm going in with an open mind and will review once I'm done!

I will admit, this is my first dip into the pool that is the fantasy genre. While subject matter from the genre isn't completely lost on me to this point I haven't made an effort to seek it out.

That being said, I really enjoyed my first taste of the it. It paced well for me. I found myself making predictions about certain characters but nothing for me ever played out to the letter. The ending of the book was definitely a shocker (on multiple accounts) and Joshua did a good job of not wrapping anything up too tight making me look forward to future installments. It was especially interesting watching my opinions of certain characters change as I followed them along their path. A couple of the characters caused me to do a complete 180.

I eagerly await to see what the future holds for Kaz, Tobin and Cathyrium.

I started a few pages while I was doing a few other things and I think I'm just dumb enough to where I'll have to sit down somewhere quiet and learn who each character is first! I love the beginning so far, just gotta memorize the names and whatnot. I'm used to non-fiction and strength training books.

Dan, don't get too caught up in trying to figure out who's who in that first chapter. Just go with it!

I agree. If you aren't used to fantasy...just keep reading. It will all click within a couple of chapters.
